Children’s Choir

Come and learn the joys of group singing in Muskoka Music Centre’s Jr. Choir! Kids ages 7-12 participate in a 10-week choir class with rhythm and melody games galore. Culminating in a recital for friends and family, we work together to pick songs YOU want to sing. With solo singing opportunities for any participant, the Jr. Choir is a perfect mix of group music-making and support for your big moment.

Intro to Classical Singing

Are you ready to explore the world of classical singing in a fun and approachable way? This 10-week masterclass-style workshop is all about making classical singing accessible and exciting. You’ll get the chance to uncover the secrets of classical singing – breaking down the mystery and showing you how it’s done! We’ll dive into things like clear pronunciation, smooth vocal lines, breath support, and posture. This workshop is about building on the skills you already have and helping you unlock that classical sound in your voice whenever you need it!

In the first week, we’ll have one-on-one lessons to figure out the perfect songs for your voice. We’ll consider your voice type and preferences to choose two pieces for you to work on throughout the course. Over the next nine weeks, you’ll take turns performing for your classmates and getting feedback from the teacher and other participants. The final week wraps up with a small recital where you can show off your hard work to friends and family!
